Vacation period
Hello everybody. How are you in this amazing summer? I've been good, sometimes a little bit bored but all right.
Well let's start, today I'm going to speak you about the vacation period in Mexico and how you can enjoy it.
Mexican Students
Normally the mexican students have got a month or less of a month to rest, (In Poland they've got a lot else). This year we've got vacations since July 16th to August 15th or 22nd, so there are ways to spend it, and have got fun!
Tourism and some famous places to go
In this period Mexico receives a lot of tourist most of them the called "Spring-breakers" who come from different countries like United States, Canada and Latin America, of course some from Europa.
The places where you can go are a lot but I'll speak about the most important.
1.-Beaches in Mexico
Mexico as you know is a country which has got a lot of beaches and all of them are really beautiful. Here the most famous.
- Cancún-Quintana Roo: This is located in the northeast of Yucatan peninsula. This is one of the most important holiday destiny in Mexico because if you remember in this part of the country was located the Maya civilization. Besides its turquoise sea it's very popular, you can find it just in Mexico. There are cenotes too, they're spectacular!
- Los Cabos- Baja California Sur: In the part north of Mexico this beach is very famous because it's got the traditional mexican town, and the beaches are awesome, surely you've seen this rocks before... The hotels are cool too
- Puerto Vallarta- Jalisco: Subtropical weather, a town full of mexican traditions and delicious food (Well you can find delicious food anywhere in Mexico)
- Huatulco-Oaxaca: During the Spain invasion, they stole a lot of things of these rich territories, but they couldn't steal its beauty. The Pacific ocean caresses the golden sand. These beaches are full of misteries and legends about ghosts of pirates who lost their souls and stole lots of ships in the antique years.
- Acapulco: This is very famous, it is located in the State of Guerrero in the south of the country, this place is know because of its beautiful beaches and night-life. There is too a virgin in a cove under the sea, you can see her, if you like diving. And the famous "Quebrada" where a lotof clavadistas make their best work. Did you know Ringo Starr one of the members of "The Beatles" composed his song "Las Brisas" while he was in Acapulco, because he got inspiration in the beauty of this magical place? The bungee jumping is a exciting attraction too.
This is all for beaches, I promise I'll write a post with ALL THE BEACHES IN MEXICO, because there are a lot more.
2. Enjoy the city! Bellas Artes tour
Maybe you wouldn't like go to the beach, maybe you want to know the city, here is a little bit of my amazing city! This is just a part I'll write another post :D
Mexico City has got a lot of attractions and museums and activities to do! Here some of the best.
- Visit the LatinAmericanTower: This Tower is the most secure building in all the city, it has got a special mechanism which avoids the movements during an earthquake.
It's got a restaurant
It has got a lot of attractions but the most important, in that spectacular lookout of all the city in the last floor of the building:
- Visit the Fine Arts Palace
This palace is of french style because the president who ordered build it (Porfirio Díaz) loved the french culture. In this place you can find interesting and artistic events, like concerts, theatre, dance, etc.
By the way if you want to read a good book you can go to the libraries in the front of the palace.
- If you need something delicious... you must visit "El moro" This is my favourite place to eat delicious churros, cofee, chocolate(of diferent styles) and milkshake (My fav. one is of chocolate) This place has got a lot of history, because was created in 1935 and even though not much time ago it suffered burn, it's the best place to eat churros. I love it too much, and you CAN'T go out of the city without eat in this place, it's tradition. It is just in the front of the subway station San Juan de Letran, Open 24 hours.
- If you're tired, sit down and enjoy of the "Alameda": Near of Fine Arts Palace, you can see allthe events, the people, the subway entrance donated by France, and of course visit the Theatre Hidalgo (What beautiful memories, when my grandfather, my cousin and I went to wonderful plays)
This is the subway entrance donated by France in 1998
- If you aren't tired yet... you can go shopping! Yes, near of the palace, you can find a lot of stores (techonolgy, books, boutiques, anything)
- Visit Madero Street: Gosh I do love this street, you can find a lot of different ice cream stores, all of them delicious, my favourite is Santa Clara but the others are awesome too. There are famous boutiques
In this street you can find the "life statues" give them a coin, and they will surprising you.
This is very important for me and all Mexico, this is a tradition that is disappearing, the "organilleros" load for hours their musical instrument, giving life to the city, you aren't in Mexico if you can't listen the beautiful sound of this instrument, give them a coin, that won't make you poor, you're helping, I don't want this tradition disappears, they're a important part of the city, and we have to help them. I try to help every time I listen them, please make the same,
Put a coin in their hats, just a coin.
This sound reminds me the beautiful city where I live, and the good things that it has got. Their work is awesome, they walk and walk playing the instrument.
Well I think this is all for this time, I must write a post with a complete tour all around Bellas Artes and all the city, I promise it has got awesome places, museums, and a lot of beauty and history. I wish your vacations were funny. Come to Mexico I promise you you'll have got too much fun.
See ya soon!
