FIRST DAY OF SPRING in Poland

21 March traditionally celebrate the first day of spring, and some of us also Truant Day. Once, in pagan times, it was one of the most important holidays of the year. They referred to the ouster of the symbolic winter and welcome spring and adoption and the associated magical rites. Known pre-Christian Slavic folk culture.
Among the most popular of these rites was melting Marzanna and painting eggs - designed to make the homes energy and joy of life and to ensure good harvest and prosperity for the whole new beginning in the spring of the year growing season. Madder was identified with the Slavic goddess symbol of winter and death; by some researchers Slavic cultures is considered a demon. Its name is derived from the Proto-Indo-meaning death.

Dzień Wagarowicza (Truant Day), an international day of opposition to the school. Almost always associated with escape from school and arranging joint truancy. On this day, nature comes to life and the students 'wake' up from hibernation. Sometimes, to avoid the escape of students, teachers organize them on that day attractions eg. Go to the cinema. My class, the teachers took to the cinema ;-). We watched movie 'London wass fallen'.

Mexico's History Part II

Hello again! Today I'll speak you about the Mexico's history since the end of the Aztecas.
Enjoy and learn about this!

As you must know in 1492 Cristobal Colon arrived to "San Salvador", Guaraní's Island, he thought that he had arrived to the "India" but that is other history, now in 1521 after that the Colon's visit, to the new continent called America in honor to "Americo Vespucio" then Spain couldn't avoid the opportunitty to explote the resources of the new land, you know that in those centuries the global economic system was the mercantilism. So Spain found a lot of gold and silver in Mexico, and they colonized this new country and they called it "New Spain" for 3 CENTURIES!
The colonized was violently obviously, they destroyed all the civilizations and evangelized them.
Hernan Cortes was who in 1521 conquered Mexico, was a little bit hilarious that the Aztecas thought that they were gods, when they discovered the truth, was too much late...

Even though the aztecas made cry once to Hernan Cortes...he lost a battle and he cried under the sad night tree ubicated actually in the Mexico City, near of a subway station called "Popotla" by the way this station has the symbol of that tree.

Mexico had been subject under Spain for 300 years!
But one day of 1810 (September 16th) Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla took a banner with the image of the Virgin of Gaudalupe, after of some conspirations, could up arms with all the population versus Spain, taking advantage of the crissis produced by the Napoleon's invasion in 1808, so they were succesful at the beginig, Miguel Hidalgo, Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, Ignacio Aldama, and others were capturated and killed just a year after, in 1811.
But José Morelos y Pavón continued with the fight, in 1813 he wrote the "Nation feelings" but he died in 1815.
In 1817 arrived Francisco Javier Mina and Fray Servando Teresa de Mier, those characters were important for the independence.
Vicente Guerrero, who was a member of the Morelos' team, and Agustin de Iturbide decided the best after of the independence would be an empire like new goverment form, so in february 10th 1821, they firmed a plan called "El plan de Iguala"
In August 24, 1921 "El tratado de Còrdoba" gave the independence to Mexico, and was firmed for Juan O'Donoju who would be the last New Spain viceroy...

I hope you like this 2nd part, I think I'll have to write a part more...

The preceding Easter week, which is a time of remembrance for the most important events of the Christian faith, is called Holy Week. The last three days of the week: Wielki Czwartek (Thursday), Wielki Piątek (Friday), Wielka Sobota (Saturday) and Resurrection Sunday are known as the Easter Triduum.

Liturgy of Wielki Czwartek rite is extremely specific. On the one hand, combined with joy and thanksgiving for the establishment of the priesthood and the sacraments of the Eucharist and the other - it is in her grief associated with the last moments of Jesus before his death. Therefore, in the churches used klekotek (instead of gongs), and the organs and bells fall silent.

Wielki Piątek (Friday)

Wielki Piątek is the day of the passion and death of Christ. The churches are not celebrated tegod of Holy Mass, the faithful gather in the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, which is located in the prison. Among the liturgical rites to the fore just those related to the death of Jesus - bitter grievances and the Way of the Cross.

Wielka Sobota (Saturday)

Wielka Sobota (Saturday) is the penultimate day of Holy Week. In his time, the Church continues to adore the Blessed Sacrament, which the prison is transferred to the Holy Sepulcher. In Poland and in the neighboring countries very popular custom associated with the day preceding Easter Sunday is Easter blessing of food. People gather in churches and bring with them meals that are eaten after the Resurrection. The baskets are egg (symbol of new life), bread (symbol of the Body of Christ), salt (which means cleaning), horseradish (symbol of vitality), cheese (signifying the connection between man and nature), meat (ozsymbol health). As you can see - the symbolism that is associated mainly with folk beliefs and convictions. The celebration of Holy Saturday last evening. Then I begin the celebration of the liturgy of the Easter Vigil, which already belong to the day Sunday of the Resurrection. Then the Blessed Sacrament returns to the tabernacles, and the figure of the dead Christ is obscured by a white cloth, and next to the tomb puts the image of the risen Savior.

History of Mexico Part I

Hello guys!
Well in this post I'm going to speak you about the Mexico's history, maybe if you read this you'll find new knowledges about this amazing country, and if you have a bad vision or a wrong idea now you can understand better some things. I'm sorry if this is long, but please you must understand are almost 2000 years of history, I'll summarize this, it is a promise, I don't wanna this seems boring for you. Let's start!
First of all you must know that the word "Mexico" has its origin in the "nahuatl" a native language of the centre of the country, and it means "Place in the moon"

The first culture in this country was in 1200 b.C and is called "Olmeca" that as the begin of the preclassic period (one of the three periods that the historians created for study the prehispanic that means before of the arrived of the spanish) and this was the first civilization in all America! They're know for their "Collosals heads" with 3.5 m. They were ubicated in Veracruz and Tabasco.
This is "La Venta" Tabasco

I think one of the most important cultures in Mexico was the "Maya" (in the Classic period, 800 b.C.) has anybody hear about it?
The Maya civilization is one of the most famous around the world, because they made many contributions in science, math, astronomy, architecture , etc. n They were ubicated in Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Campeche, and in parts of Guatemala
For example  did you know that they were the first who use the nuber "0"? Yes, they did. This civilization created the value "0". The mayas had a vigesimal (based in the 20) numeration.
This are the hieroglyph maya numeration

The calendar was really important too, this counts the time in distincts aspects. (religious, ) they considered the begin of all on August 13th, 3114 b.C.
And this calendar has periods, do you remember the end of the world the last December 21, 2012? Some persons thought the mayas said the world ended this day, but only was the begin of a new period.
For finish with this culture, have you ever seen to "Kukulcan" (Maya God) set down in "Chichen-Itzá" during a spring equinox? That is thankful to the maya's architecture, an optic illusion made for the sun toward the pyramid of Kukulcan.

For finish with this post, I'll speak you the civilization that give us a symbol, important. "Azteca"
Azteca, Mexica or Tenochca (Post-Classic period 1325 a.D - 1527 a.D.) Were a population with big advences in war, farming, commerce, etc. Ubicated in Mexico's valley (Mexico city and State of Mexico)
They leaved "heron's place" in 1111 looking for a signal that their god "Huitzilopoztli" gave them for the founding of their own city. In 1321 they arrived to the Mexico's centre where after of fight versus the lord of "Azcapotzalco" they finally  saw the signal "An eagle over a nopal, eating a snake" (This will convert in our symbol, it's in our flag)

Then they built "Tenochtitlan" in this point; the big city, wich was destroyed by Spain during the colonization...

Well I hope you enjoy this fist part, I'll write the second part soon.
What do you think about this civilizations? Let me know it. Write comments and share! Thanks.
See ya!
